A conference for national multiple sclerosis day

 

Yesterday a conference entitled “Towards Personalized Medicine” was held at the Alicia Koplowitz Multiple Sclerosis Center of the Community of Madrid. The conference, on National Multiple Sclerosis Day, was inaugurated by Ignacio Gonzalez, president of the Community of Madrid. An occasion attended by different personalities and experts in the fields of health and Multiple Sclerosis where topics such as personalized treatment, treatment choice and specialized physiotherapy were discussed.

A mobile application for controlling Multiple Sclerosis and VirtualRehab were the technological innovations that were presented. First, a free application for iPhone and iPad, aimed at people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, which enables proper control of the disease, with a record of evolution and treatment guidelines. Later Laura Garcia of the FEMM (Multiple Sclerosis Foundation of Madrid) presented Virtualrehab, a virtual rehabilitation platform using Kinect technology.

This product has been used for several months with many patients of the foundation, whose results are very positive.
