Opening of first Centre using VirtualRehab for physical rehab of Parkinson’s patients

 

La Roda Parkinson´s Association opened a new physiotherapy unit at the Center for Integrated Rehabilitation for Neurological Chronic Illness (CIRENC) in the city of La Roda, Spain. The refurbished 182 square metre centre is made up of various wards, including one equipped with magnetic therapy, electrotherapy and physiotherapy equipment along with VirtualRehab, Virtualware’s rehabilitation videogame system. The Association becomes the first dedicated to helping those affected by Parkinson´s disease to incorporate this innovative technology as an additional service for their 180 users in the area....

VirtualRehab presented as a reference in eHealth at new Centre for Dravet Syndrome

 

Virtualware attended the opening of the new EIC BBK (eHealth Innovation Centre) in the Basque town of Ermua, promoted by the Dravet Syndrome Foundation and supported by the BBK bank. Dravet syndrome, also known as Severe Myoclonic Epilepsy of Infancy (SMEI), is a rare form of intractable epilepsy that begins in infancy. Dabsa Group and Virtualware launch the first virtual rehabilitation service using videogame technology in Mexico

 

The Meridia Day Centre becomes the first in Mexico to use VirtualRehab, the physical rehabilitation system which combines videogames and the Microsoft® Kinect® motion tracking device. The Neurology Spanish Society granted VirtualRehab

 

The Neurology Spanish Society has officially granted its support to VirtualRehab, an innovative physical rehabilitation system based on videogames and motion capture technology of the Microsoft® Kinect developed by the company Virtualware. This system allows patients to incorporate the rehabilitation programs at their homes thanks to the remote management capacity (tele-rehabilitation) through the use of Microsoft® Windows Azure® technology. A Basque product for the rehabilitation of the physically disabled – out to conquer Russia

 

The Basque Country company Virtualware has come to an agreement with a distributor in Russia to sell there the rehabilitation tool Virtualrehab, aimed at patients with Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and those who have suffered a stroke. The novelty of this product is that it uses the videogame console Kinect to capture the patient’s movements without any type of command, whilst encouraging them to continue the treatment through mini games with points and challenges adapted to their level of disability....

A conference for national multiple sclerosis day

 

Yesterday a conference entitled “Towards Personalized Medicine” was held at the Alicia Koplowitz Multiple Sclerosis Center of the Community of Madrid. The conference, on National Multiple Sclerosis Day, was inaugurated by Ignacio Gonzalez, president of the Community of Madrid. An occasion attended by different personalities and experts in the fields of health and Multiple Sclerosis where topics such as personalized treatment, treatment choice and specialized physiotherapy were discussed. A mobile application for controlling Multiple Sclerosis and VirtualRehab were the technological innovations that were presented....
