VirtualRehab debuts at the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine

 

Virtualware has signed a distribution agreement for VirtualRehab with Nihon Binary, a leading technology company in Japan. Established in 1979, Nihon Binary supplies advanced imaging and graphics peripheral devices and software to meet customer needs in the academic, research, medical imaging and industrial market. VirtualRehab has already been translated into Japanese and will be formally launched by Nihon Binary in Japan at the “51st Annual Meeting of The Japanese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine” which is being celebrated between the 5th and the 7th of June in Nagoya....

Version 2.2 Released

 

We are going to publish a new version of VirtualRehab, Version 2.2. VirtualRehab based on our clients´ and their patients’ experiences. It’s another example of how here at Virtualware we take your suggestions and comments very seriously. We’re working hard to create a tool which helps both physiotherapists as well as patients to improve the quality of their lives. In this latest update there are notable improvements and corrections of minor errors in both the Manager and the Games....

Orpea centres in Sanchinarro and Las Rozas have introduced the Virtualrehabilitation system

 

Madrid, the 5th of May 2014. – ORPEA, European leader in the field of caring for the elderly, has recently introduced a new virtual rehabilitation system in their centres in Madrid, Spain. The platform developed by Virtualware and supported by the Spanish Society of Neurology, is based on the motion capture videogame technology of Microsoft Kinect. The European Multiple Sclerosis Platform (EMSP) is celebrating its Spring Conference in Dublin between the 8th and 9th of May with the theme “Care where it counts- as a journey with MS”, coinciding with the organization’s 25th anniversary. The first conference sponsored by RIMS (Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis), the European network on research and best practices will focus on rehabilitation, on the needs of carers and on young people with MS....

Videogames for ailments

 

The Spanish magazine Interviu recently reported on the use of videogames for therapeutic purposes. A study shows the validity and effectiveness of VirtualRehab combined with traditional therapy

 

The study results are being presented at the 8th World Congress for Neurorehabilitation in Istanbul. VirtualRehab is a product for the physical rehabilitation of patients with neurological diseases and disorders based on Virtual Reality technology. The study was developed by the Basque Foundation of Multiple Sclerosis and the Neurorehabilitation Department of the University of Navarra Clinic. The 8th World Congress for Neurorehabilitation will take place between the 8th to the 12th of April in Istanbul, Turkey, coinciding with the 4th National Congress of Turkish Society of Physical Medicine....
